Prosperity Salary Packaging Surpasses $2 Billion in Employee Tax Savings, Marking 25 Years of Impact

Prosperity’s Salary Packaging division has reached a significant milestone, surpassing $2 billion in tax savings delivered to Australian employees, as the division celebrates its 25th year of operation.

The achievement reflects a quarter-century commitment to helping employers and employees maximise after-tax income through compliant, transparent, and easy-to-manage salary packaging solutions.

Operating nationally and supported by Prosperity’s broader integrated advisory model, the Salary Packaging division partners with employers across healthcare, not-for-profit, government, and corporate sectors — delivering tailored programs that enhance employee benefits while reducing administrative burden for organisations.

Founder and CEO Allan McKeown described the milestone as a powerful reflection of the division’s long-term value to both employers and employees.

“Surpassing two billion dollars in tax savings is an extraordinary outcome, not just for our business, but for the hundreds of thousands of employees who have directly benefited over the past 25 years,” McKeown said. “Salary packaging, when delivered correctly and compliantly, can make a meaningful difference to household budgets. This milestone represents real, tangible financial impact.”

For 25 years, our focus has been on making salary packaging simple, transparent, and accessible

Since its establishment, Prosperity Salary Packaging has evolved alongside significant legislative and regulatory changes, maintaining a strong focus on compliance, technology investment, and client service. The division has continued to expand its service offering, including novated leasing, living expense packaging, and remote area benefits, while investing in digital tools that simplify employee onboarding and management.

Director of Salary Packaging Jeff Chittock said the milestone is underpinned by long-standing employer partnerships and a commitment to service excellence.

“For 25 years, our focus has been on making salary packaging simple, transparent, and accessible,” they said. “Employers rely on us to manage complex regulatory requirements, and employees rely on us to ensure they are maximising the benefits available to them. Reaching $2 billion in delivered tax savings demonstrates the scale and consistency of that trust.”

Rising demand for novated EV leasing

Amid ongoing fuel price volatility and broader household cost pressures, Prosperity has seen a significant increase in enquiries for novated leasing, particularly electric vehicles (EVs). With motor vehicles often representing the largest single benefit employees can package, the ability to salary package an eligible EV under current FBT exemptions has delivered meaningful tax and running cost savings. Many employees are now actively using salary packaging as a practical way to reduce transport costs and improve take-home income.

The division’s growth has been driven by strong referral relationships, long-term client retention, and increasing awareness among employers of the role salary packaging plays in attraction and retention strategies.

“A well-structured salary packaging program is not just a payroll function — it’s a strategic advantage,” Jeff added. “It helps organisations compete for talent while improving employees’ take-home pay in a compliant and sustainable way.”

Prosperity’s integrated structure combining accounting, tax, lending, financial planning, and corporate services, continues to provide a point of differentiation, ensuring salary packaging advice aligns with broader financial and compliance considerations. McKeown said the anniversary is both a moment of reflection and forward momentum.

“Twenty-five years is a significant chapter in our firm’s history. We’re proud of the impact we’ve had, and we’re equally focused on what’s next — continuing to innovate, invest in technology, and help employers and employees get the most from their salary packaging opportunities.”

With sustained demand for employee benefit solutions and ongoing expansion across sectors, Prosperity says its Salary Packaging division remains committed to delivering practical, compliant, and high-impact outcomes for Australian workplaces well into the future.”
